Other than that, Debicki, West, Staunton and Pryce desrve awards in awards season. I think its understandable because they split 1990s. My only concern in terms of technichalities is pacing of ep1-2 felt slow but good quality. I just cannot handle these opinions that damage the show’s image. Others also have this feeling that they hyped the show because they expect it will attack Charles force him to abdicate or even end the monarchy itself. Nothing changed actually, p the problem is when some fans feel rrcalling past scars damages public perception of the king. Public reaction to death influenced how they now view the show. “My problem with this season is airing it months after the death of the Queen. “Definitely another compelling season led by the wonderful Imelda and the ever capitvating Debicki. It played out in the news or has been documented to death ever since Diana’s death.” – Jabba H. I guess that’s a lot of my biggest complaint: most of what you see in Season 5 is KNOWN. I, for one, wouldn’t have minded a few more episodes or even an additional season if it meant more details about the goings-on in the background that most of us weren’t privy to. It’s almost like the producers had too much going on and they had to make drastic cuts for the sake of time. I realize that, the wedding, the cheating, the break up and Diana’s eventual death were a major part of history, but there’s almost no mention of what was going on with Prince Andrew and Fergie or William and Harry. Frankly, the season could have easily been called the “Charles and Diana” show because it feels like about 90% of the time is spent on those two and much less time given to Elizabeth, Phillip, and the rest of the Royals. She has Diana’s demure face down, eyes up look to a T, but that’s about where it ends. Her acting’s not bad, but she towers over all her other costars making it seem like an awkward middle school dance where the girls are much taller than the pre-teen boys. Casting of Elizabeth Debicki was a bad choice.
Season 5 is definitely the weakest of all the seasons so far. Even the worst ice cream is still ice cream and you long to devour it. The season debuted with all 10 episodes and quickly racked up a 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Salim Daw will play Mohamed Al-Fayed, the businessman father of Dodi Fayed, Diana’s romantic partner. Imelda Staunton plays Queen Elizabeth, and Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Jonny Lee Miller, Dominic West, and Elizabeth Debicki (above) also star in the upcoming season. The fifth season will take place during the early to mid-1990s and include the tumultuous relationship between Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Netflix’s hit series “The Crown” is back for Season 5 and the fans are beyond excited to have the show back on streaming!
